L3 no1: Stories

My first personal anthology of short comic stories, now back and better than ever!  This collection from 2011 is now out of print, but you can read it here online, new and improved with edits to art and layout. 

L3 no1: Stories contains two shorts - the fantastical 8-page adaptation of Aesop's fable The Birds, The Beasts, and The Bat exploring gender and the policing of ambiguous identity, and the retrofuturist sci fi Body Language.  In this 12-page story about alien communication, social isolation, grief, and regrowth, Linguo-Botonist Dr. Lakshmi Mehra struggles to invent a translator for the tubular Minervans, all while coping with an emotional loss she cannot express to her straight human "peers."

This collection features several additional illustrations, and clocks in at 31 total pages.  This is also the only place you can currently read The Birds, The Beasts, and The Bat, as I have never published it online!
